Originally built by George Westinghouse and later part of a Vanderbilt Estate, it was the first property in the world to be illuminated by AC electricity. This historic gem was once a gathering spot for some of America's most brilliant minds, including President McKinley, Nikola Tesla, and Lord Kelvin. Nowadays, it is adorned with fine art and equipped with an in-house yoga studio, two kitchens, seven cozy sleeping areas, and five bathrooms.

Your retreat experience is enhanced with amenities such as lakefront access, which is just an 8-minute walk away, offering a tranquil setting for meditation and reflection. The property boasts breathtaking Berkshire views that inspire and invigorate. Whether practicing under the majestic 25' cathedral ceilings, connecting with fellow students in the communal areas, or finding peace in the Victorian-style courtyard, The Playhouse is your sanctuary for growth and relaxation.

TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS

Regarding transportation to and from the Berkshires, we suggest considering the following options:

1. Bus: From New York City, you can take the Peter Pan Bus to Williamstown, MA, where Grant will pick you up and drive you an additional 30 minutes to the Playhouse.

2. Train: Amtrak operates the Berkshire Flyer, a four-hour train ride from New York City. However, their seasonal service schedule ends in October, and we are still awaiting the exact end date.

3. Car: The drive from New York City to the Berkshires is about 3-4 hours depending on traffic.

4. Shared Rides: As the retreat date approaches, we can connect you with fellow students who may be interested in sharing rides or rental cars, fostering a more collaborative and eco-friendly approach to travel.
